Aggression for the Compassionate (taught by Jaime von Atzinger) 1 hour

Description: Competitive martial arts are as much a mental contest as a physical one. For some of us, our first fight is to simply be ok with fighting. This discussion class will explore some of the emotional barriers that can limit enjoyment and competitive potential

Aluminum Shield Painting Front and Back (taught by Anne Mulligan) 1 hour

Description: In This class I will teach how I paint and seal Aluminum shields without adding weight. This is an SCA specific style of shield finishing. I will go over the paints used. I will teach how to fuax paint the back of the shield to look like wood.

Archery Marshal Administration (taught by Dietrich von Hamburg) 1 hour

Description: When and how to report. Who to report to. What to do with all of the paperwork. Who to ask for help. All of the not-on-the-range stuff that Archery Marshals need to do.

InFighting & GroundFighting Tips and Tricks (taught by William of Fairhaven) 1 hour

Description: This class will cover position fighting at extremely close ranges, fighting downed opponents and how to fight standing opponents when you are on the ground – this class is open to all but if you want to do some practical work, please come armored and read

Requirements: This class is for students of all levels who just want to get some better understanding of how the techniques of In Fighting and Groud Fighting work within the SCA combat rules. All are welcome – any skill level is welcome.

Introduction to Sword and Buckler for Cut and Thru (taught by AElfred of Chester) 1 hour

Train Like You Mean It (taught by William of Fairhaven) 1.5 hour

Description: This class lays out a path for anyone who wants to improve in martial activities (heavy/rapier). It covers a wide range of topics including training, drills, getting Knighted, dealing with jerks in the sport and focusing on improving your skills.

Requirements: No requirements other than an interest in martial activities in the SCA (heavy or rapier). Being an authorized fighter is not a requirement to take this class as it also acts as a primer for combat activities in general.
